As HSE Advisor you will be Responsible for providing professional support and coordination of all HSE matters, ensure compliance with the statutory and RWE internal HSE requirements and assume the role of "Health & Safety Advisor" (Safety Specialist, -Professional, -Engineer or equivalent according to statutory requirements), if required.


Main tasks:


  • Coordinate and support the provision of health, safety and environmentalrelated assistance for the assigned units incl. interfaces/cooperation with authorities.
  • Proactively support and advise staff as well as line/functional/project management in meeting their HSE responsibility and the development and promotion of an excellent HSE culture.
  • Support effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Italian HSE Management System requirements for the in scope technologies and sites.
  • Ensure legal HSE requirements are identified and considered, and achieving compliance is supported and evaluated on a regular basis.
  • Plan, monitor and report HSE and Sustainability KPIs in the defined area of responsibility. Consult with and report to management in the supported units.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analyses (if required in the business units) in a selfreliant manner, especially when it comes to events with severe consequences and events with high damage potential incl. consultation/cooperation with the respective authorities/entities in charge.
  • Advisory role for engineering, construction and modification activities with respect to compliance with specific requirements according to the European Directive on the implementation of minimum safety and health requirements at temporary or mobile construction sites (Directive 92/57/EEC)" as implemented in the country regulation
  • Conduct and support risk and hazard assessments and derive actions.
  • Support emergency and crisis management if required.
  • Provide safetyrelated training and courses based on focus analyses for the remit area in order to qualify and skill relevant staff in terms of health, safety or environmental topics.
  • Conduct and develop/advance integrated Safety walk programs, inspections and audits pursuant to country OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) and Environmental legislation as well as RWE Renewables HSE Governance & Performance requirements to check and ensure conformity with the law/corporate requirements.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors.
  • Plan and followup of HSE activities at regional level.
  • Assume the tasks as Health & Safety Advisor according to statutory requirements, if required.
  • Support the occupational health & safety committee meetings either required by law or corporate requirements
  • Work closely with the HSE _leadership team OPEA _and support the Development/Construction/Operations teams with HSE advise as required.
  • Cooperate with occupational health specialists when it comes to occupational diseases.
  • Cooperation with codetermination bodies, management and labour as well as employer representatives (as applicable) to develop or review company agreements, (Group) policies or assessments/evaluations.
  • Assume the duty of Environmental Officer and support sustainability activities, if required. Take over special assignments, including acting as a main point of contact or lead for particular HSE specialist work or projects.

Key qualifications/skills:


  • Comprehensive job experience (> 5 years) and HSEspecific qualifications, preferably in the Renewables energy sector
  • Good working knowledge of Italian Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Experience in implementing an HSE Management System, preferably aligned with ISO 14001, 45001 or similar
  • Be capable of completing the GWO BST qualification
  • Wideranging expertise in the area of Health, Safety & Environment
  • Good health, with general all round fitness to work at height
  • Analytical and conceptional skills
  • Very good command of written and spoken English, additional languages is an advantage
  • High degree of selfdirected initiative and personal responsibility
  • Decisionmaking attitude
  • Good assertiveness, persuasiveness and openness to dialogue
  • Pronounced team spirit and communication skills
  • Good level of facilitation and presentation skills
