Job purpose:


Global Medical Affairs Lead for Malaria / TB is a specialized role within the Scientific Affairs & Public Health team of Global Health Access that involves overseeing the medical affairs activities related to malaria and tuberculosis (TB) vaccines & medicines across LMICs.


The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and execute medical strategies that support the clinical development, approval, and access of malaria and TB vaccines & medicines.

Though focus will be on Malaria & TB, the role will also support (if required) other scientific affairs activities related to Global health access assets like enteric diseases & AMR.


Key responsibilities for the Global Medical Affairs lead for Malaria & TB in Vaccines & Medicines may be broadly categorized as follows**:
Strategy Development and Execution

  • Developing and implementing global medical strategies for malaria and tuberculosis products
  • Ensuring alignment of medical strategies with overall GSK-Global Health objectives
  • Supporting crossfunctional teams in the development and execution of medical strategies

Clinical Development Support

  • Providing medical input and guidance to clinical development teams
  • Participating in protocol development and review
  • Analyzing and interpreting clinical study data

Medical Communications

  • Providing medical input and review of scientific publications
  • Developing medical education materials and other medical communications
  • Participating in scientific conferences and other events to present data related to TB and malaria products and engage with external stakeholders

Medical Information

  • Providing medical information and support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborating with program access leads to develop access and educational materials that communicate the clinical benefits of TB and malaria products to healthcare professionals.
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance of medical information

Thought Leadership

  • Staying up to date with the latest scientific and medical developments in malaria and tuberculosis
  • Developing and managing relationships with key opinion leaders, medical societies, and other stakeholders to ensure that medical strategies are aligned with market needs.

Compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Provide input into overarching GH Access Strategies, e.g., Pandemic Preparedness, Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR), working closely with the GH Access Lead and team members
Actively engage with key external stakeholders and prepare strategic recommendations along with access planning lead to senior stakeholders across the company, including GLT, on an ongoing basis to enable delivery and continued expansion of access strategy and visibility of the GH Unit and the impact of the GH Access programs


Why You:

We are looking for individuals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • MD Physician (Infectious diseases
  • Malaria/TB background will be preferred)
  • Significant experience in designing and delivering Scientific Affairs & Public Health plans; coordinating medical engagement activities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of therapy area, treatment options and patient care especially in the field of Infectious diseases like TB, Malaria & Enteric diseases
  • Familiarity with the key medical/scientific experts within the therapeutic field
  • Significant experience in medical organization, at country and global level, including Phase III clinical studies
  • Experience working in lower income country in a healthrelated field and/or in publicprivate partnership
  • Proven track record of working across multiple departments and in crossfunctional matrix teams
  • Strong problem solving and strategic thinking paired with effective communication
  • Experience and credibility with senior lead teams/stakeholders, with demonstrated personal impact and ability to understand scientific requirements
