The new Area Manager will be responsible for the business with a large client portfolio over North and Central Italy, working directly with key accounts and in strict collaboration and coordination with some multi-firm Agents in charge of the other clients.


With a deep technical knowledge of mechanical seals, rotating equipment and the process industry in general he/she will be able to offer technical solutions and consequently secure new business opportunities.

The role holder will be involved in every aspect of the business with the assigned accounts (commercial, contract management, technical, quality, logistic, payments, legal).

When not travelling to the client, we have a Hybrid working policy. Working 2 days per week from home and 3 from our office in Muggiò.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support clients from a technical point of view in order to find new business opportunities for John Crane benefit
  • Emitting technical and commercial quotes to clients
  • Negotiation of the selected opportunities under the technical scope of supply, price, delivery date
  • Scout the market for finding new clients
  • Manage problems by being actively involved in the action by the other company departments
  • Promote partnership between John Crane and the assigned accounts by maximizing client satisfaction
  • Appear to client's eyes as a "problemsolver" and "solutionprovider"
  • Work in strict coordination with the assigned Agents and the Service Team
  • Provide forecast about the business evolution with the assigned accounts

The Individual

  • Important experience in Technical Sales, and consequent strategic mindset and negotiation capabilities are essential
  • Good technical knowledge about mechanical seals would be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge about process industry and rotating equipment coming by previous working experience
  • Commercial mindset and orientation to new business development
  • High communication skills and easygoing personal approach
  • Enthusiasm for business, endurance, the intensity of action
  • Availability to spend in the market field at least 50% of the working time.
  • Fluent Italian & English is essential
