For a pharmaceutical company, we are looking for a:LABORATORY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
Purpose of the role:
Within the Research Lab Ops group the Laboratory Operations Specialist will support operational functions for the R&D laboratories and related documents in collaboration with: Lab Supply and Logistics, Lab Automation, Quality for R&D, EHS, Contract Management and Procurement, Maintenance and Engineering in support for the R&D
Main activities:
- Liaise with external Providers, Maintenance, Engineering, Lab Supply and Logistics, Lab Automation and R&D Lab Heads on EQUIPMENT and FACILITIES processes to ensure laboratory support is provided (e.g., support the Lab Head for the definition of the list of equipment to put under maintenance contract, facility changes, LECS, installation, maintenance, movement and decommissioning of instruments, dynamic DUVRIs, pipette calibration)
- Provide support for the management of deviations and CAPAs related to EQUIPMENT
- Involved in CAPA plan activities as follow up of Compliance Audit
- Support documental activities related to EQUIPMENT LIFE-CYCLE management (e.g equipment file creation and update)
- Support for SOE implementation and monitoring
- Provide support for the implementation of EHS & QA requirements and initiatives for R&D group in collaboration with local EHS&S and QA
- Lead and Implement crosslaboratory initiatives
- Ensure selfinspection and continuous improvement are completed by the relevant lab safety representatives
- Assist and support the laboratory safety representatives in the conduct L1 and L2 and other EHS audits
- Support the Lab Head for the Chemical Inventory and MSD management by ensuring their implementation and annual review
- Participate to SA Bacterial Lab Operation Team meeting and Research Lab Ops meeting and ensure proper followup within the Functions.
Minimum requirements:
- Scientific degree
- At least cumulative 12 years of work experience in a laboratory and/or business environment
- Understand laboratory operations
- Good communication skills, team spirit
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- IT tools oriented. Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. SAP knowledge is a plus
