Role Description

The role holder will be responsible for the strategy and the negotiation with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses.

He/ She will lead the purchasing process from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes.

Main Activities

Verify financial reliability of key suppliers.
Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers if required.
Manage tender phase or verify that specific department has managed it correctly.
Liaise with legal counsel to verify that relevant contracts/POs have been legally reviewed.
Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements.
Process purchase orders to acquire goods
Support in Developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures for the organisation.
Identification and realization of costsaving and costreduction opportunities

Desired Qualification

Education:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, finance or a related area, (Master's degree preferred).

Languages:

Fluent Italian and English

Experience / Professional requirements:

Relevant experience of delivering and adding value in a similar commercial and procurement role
Team player at executive levels to collaborate with business units, functional partners (like IT, finance, HR, legal ) and external stakeholders
Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, risk management, etc.
Indepth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
Strong negotiation skills and strategic mindset
Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
