Role Description


The role holder will be responsible for the strategy and the negotiation with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses.

He/ She will lead the purchasing process from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes.


Main Activities

  • Verify financial reliability of key suppliers.
  • Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers if required.
  • Manage tender phase or verify that specific department has managed it correctly.
  • Liaise with legal counsel to verify that relevant contracts/POs have been legally reviewed.
  • Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements.
  • Process purchase orders to acquire goods
  • Support in Developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures for the organisation.
  • Identification and realization of costsaving and costreduction opportunities

Desired Qualification

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, finance or a related area, (Master's degree preferred).

Languages:

  • Fluent Italian and English

Experience / Professional requirements:

  • Relevant experience of delivering and adding value in a similar commercial and procurement role
  • Team player at executive levels to collaborate with business units, functional partners (like IT, finance, HR, legal ) and external stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, risk management, etc.
  • Indepth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
  • Strong negotiation skills and strategic mindset
  • Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
