Purpose
The new colleague joining the Global R&D Outsourcing Management in Global Procurement team will play an active role in our company's journey in the development of R&D Pipeline supporting core R&D activities outsourced through CROs / Service Providers managing the relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Design customized supplier qualification and selection process for Clinical Service Providers in conjunction with R&D, GRD and Clinical Outsourcing Head, R&D QA and Global Procurement;
Manage the supplier qualification and selection process in compliance with Global R&D OM Corporate procedures and direct involvement of GCD and GRD Clinical departments in order to identify CROs matching technical and business requirements;
Lead bidding process for the delivery of R&D and GRD outsourcing activities, also including oversight of competitive bids and cost negotiation with suppliers when needed;
Negotiate contracts terms, price and payment schedule, leading the final contract definition and execution;
Create dedicated contractual templates for Late Phase Clinical Studies services;
Define Late Phase Clinical Service Providers validated suppliers' pool;
Manage vendor relationships and issues resolution in co-operation with the relevant Chiesi Corporate R&D and GRD departments. Monitoring vendor performance according to applicable MSAs, contracts and Chiesi SOPs;
Keep business intelligence through monitoring outsourcing environment & awareness of industry trends;
Supervise and execute SAP passive cycle activities pertinent to the area of responsibility, developing optimization activities where applicable;
Support R&D and GRD Clinical staff in the development of the «Outsourcing Culture» deploying trainings on demand and granting a constant, open support for any specific Clinical Department need in the area of competence;
Supervise R&D and GRD Outsourcing external service providers' activities and projects devoted to the area of competence, also granting the relevant execution in compliance with contractual terms and deliverables.
Experience RequiredPreferrable +3 years of experience in a CRO/CDMO or Pharmaceutical company, possibly in the R&D Procurement / Outsourcing Management / Contract Management area
Education
Scientific or Economic degree or higher
Languages
Fluent in English
Technical Skills
Basic understanding of pricing and contracting models for Outsourced services, of cost drivers and benchmarks;
Basic understanding of R&D processes at Corporate and local level;
Basic understanding of key drivers of Corporate - Local relationship, possibly with direct experience.
