ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will primarily provide legal support for Cero's portfolio of projects in development in Italy.

You will have substantial interaction with Cero colleagues and will be involved in managing external legal providers.


While the principal areas of focus will supporting project development activity on Cero's existing Italian portfolio, as a key member of the in-house legal function, the range of work will be varied and may include supporting on aspects of project financing and sponsor funding; acquisitions and divestments; shareholder arrangements; co-sec and corporate governance; and regulatory compliance in Italy.

Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the Cero Development team in the management of legal arrangements across their development portfolio including land agreements, development services agreements and grid agreements.
  • Supporting the implementation of local legal regulations and requirements, particularly in relation to antibribery and corruption and 321 compliance protocol.
  • Advising the business (including the coordination of external legal counsel) on the drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a range of industryspecific and general commercial contracts relating to renewable power projects in Italy.
  • Advising the business on contentious and other issues arising during development, construction and operation of Cero's Italian projects.
  • Assisting with the appointment and management of external counsel in Italy.
  • Working closely with other inhouse disciplines including Finance, Co-Sec, Compliance, WHSES, Commercial and Technical.
  • Supporting the Cero Development team in the management of authorization procedures through the supervision of all the procedures started or to be started both at national and local level, and through the constant monitoring of the applicable legislation.
  • Supporting the Cero Development team in the management of final authorisations, concessions, execution of framework agreements with relevant stakeholders, etc., to be finalized before and during the construction phase

ABOUT YOU


We are looking for an Italian qualified lawyer who is passionate about what they do and will bring energy and enthusiasm to the role, with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in the energy/projects department of a top tier international law firm and preferably in-house experience gained in a renewable or conventional energy company.


You will have:

  • Excellent postqualification experience advising on typical project development contracts used in the power sector, ideally within the renewables space.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills including the ability to clearly and concisely articulate legal concepts to nonlegal colleagues.
  • The ability to adapt and work in an everchanging and fast paced environment.
  • Drive, passion and a good team ethic, with a cando attitude, whilst being down to earth and considerate.
  • Selfmotivation and timemanagement skills.
  • Robust and efficient, with the ability to multitask and work on several matters simultaneously.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel within Europe as required.
