The
Head of Events is responsible for the teams delivery of successful & profitable events & implementation of global and local processes.

This team will deliver multiple, simultaneous, and complex projects worldwide on time and on budget for various customers across different industry sectors.

Strong relationship building and cross collaboration is required across all teams in multifunctional & global areas across the business


The primary role of the
Head of Events will be to manage and support the team, but on occasion there will be a requirement to support large event projects as the business dictates.


Specifically, the Manager will:


  • Lead day to day operations for a team of event planners and supervisors responsible for the creation, management and execution of various types and complexities of meetings and events both live, hybrid & virtual
  • Work in close collaboration with regional and global peers to ensure service excellence
  • Lead and/or oversee complex projects to ensure the successful delivery of meetings and event projects if the business dictates.
  • Support new business opportunities and implementation from local, regional & global teams
  • Maintain communication with key event and planning clients and account management/business development teams to ensure awareness of program progress, key changes, and gaps in delivery with enough time to develop strategies to address any issues
  • Assign talent and staff to sold programs to ensure all business requirements and expectations are met, minimising use of external contractors
  • Working with the local, regional & global commercial teams, ensure correct use of rate cards is used across the team to drive profitable and repeat business
  • Drive change and employee engagement through effective communications and support from global functions
  • Ensure team's adherence to global & local SLAs, processes and metrics
  • Align and implement global resource model/ workforce management into team
  • Ensure pricing for service delivery are clearly defined and managed profitably from conception to reconciliation
  • Ensure team adherence to client contract and statement of work to avoid scope creep on projects.
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing clients to encourage account growth
  • Monitor team performance and trends, creating an action plan as necessary to ensure sustained performance
  • Responsible for team Talent Management & HR processes including but not limited to performance reviews, development and training needs, performance improvement, and disciplinary actions
  • Support with RFP requirements and presentations to clients as needed
  • Manage and support forecasting and regular financial reviews for responsible teams
  • In alignment with supervisors, ensure clear and seamless coordination to facilitate basic management approaches for work scheduling, prioritizing, and process execution for daytoday work
  • Implement new Global processes & identify opportunities for productivity
  • Contribute to M&E projects on global, national, cross functional or regional level as required
  • Be an ambassador for the CWT Meetings & Events brand able to enhance and uphold our reputation in the industry
  • Flexibility with International and Domestic travel for internal and external meetings and events as and when required

  • Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • University Degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years meetings and events experience
  • Strong understanding, experience, and knowledge of Virtual and Hybrid projects with platform capabilities and project planning
  • Good understanding, experience, and knowledge of AV/Production
  • IT literate with strong experience of using Microsoft Office and database tools
  • Languages skills are preferable
  • CVENT knowledge essential
