The Global Information Technology (IT) Department of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is actively working on rationalizing and streamlining the diverse technological landscape within the Group.

This ongoing initiative bears many aspects and lead to many projects mobilizing the overall workforce of the company.

Product Architect:

The Product Architect will work very closely with Enterprise Architecture, product teams, specialists, and all the transversal teams, like security and infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Product Architect is responsible for the assigned scope, expected he/she take ownership and leadership. He/She does not directly manage a team. However, this person will collaborate with many teams located in Switzerland, Italy, India, Belgium, US.

This person will have to:

Verify and contribute to the OneVision architecture standards and guidelines for the product design and development
Teach and control Product Teams to follow the rules provided in these guidelines
Identify, design, and drive the implementation of shared technical components
Perform business case assessments and drive the implementation of applicable proofs of concepts
Help Architecture Team, Product Teams and any other team involved on a common initiative to make the right choices
Communicate with stakeholders using clear and concise language
Report to the Manager Product Architecture, follow up on next steps, arbitrate on priorities

Guarantee Application Performance, scalability, and security
Ensure that each technical component can be replaced easily in the future when obsolete or no longer aligned with MSC's objectives
Anticipate and manage risks for each topic
Provide reporting and supporting documents in time to the Program Management, Product teams or EA Team.
Transfer of skills within Architects Team and Developers
Stay tuned with technology updates relevant to OneVision context
Advise, promote, coach, coordinate the use of these tools
Ensure that all Projects and Applications effectively use technical components as per the validated Technical Architecture Design
Applications performance (response time and availability) will be paramount to the success of the Program.

Thus, he/she is to propose and lead the setup of a specific governance model to ensure that the right emphasis and focus is given to performance related topic.

Build technical components user guides for the Project Teams
Contribute to the training material and processes documentation

Promoting and adopting a pragmatic approach

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
(P) = Preferred, (R) = Required

General:

Experience on Enterprise grade software development
Methodic and with special attention to detail and quality
Software, Processes, and data minded
Didactical in sharing/teaching best practices.

Technical:

Solid experience implementing systems integration
Detailed oriented with strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
Solid database knowledge beyond ORM usage and experience working on systems handling large amounts of data
Solid Experience with testing practices and tooling
Experience with event-driven or/and event-sourcing
Experience delivering to at least one Cloud provider (Azure preferred)
Fluency in English (oral and written)
