As Technology Development and Lab Manager, you will be responsible for the Refinish Science and Technology organization with accountability for project management, lab management, product and process development, customer technical support, technical manufacturing support assigned to your team.

You will be responsible for leading safety, driving innovation
, managing a team, developing talent, implementing standard methodologies, streamlining existing processes to increase efficiency, and improving service levels.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify ways to further optimize workflow and activities and to ensure a balanced organization.
  • Drive portfolio alignment with business, lead project management to successful delivery of key technologies.
  • Optimally support the integration of recent acquisitions and identified mid and longer term opportunities.
  • Activate the PPG Way and drives improvements in employee engagement across the organization.
  • Introduce a continuous improvement approach and increase the technical organization efficiency and scientific attitude.
  • Plan & organize, communicate, and share information, mobilize resources, build strong work relationships through trust and respect.
  • Manage a team of chemists and technical specialists.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of coating technologies, products, extensive chemical technology knowledge, experience in laboratory management with EHS insights.
  • Have a Ph.
D. in a related technical field

  • Minimum of 810 years of experience in a technical leadership role with a proven track record of authentic leadership, crossfunctional collaboration, and customer intimacy. Experiences in more companies and geographies is a plus
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and change management experience
  • Proficient English
  • Ability to manage in complex environments with broad range of stakeholders and product technologies
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong influencing skills
