    We are on the lookout for an intern to join us in the capacity of a Data Scientist for our Mainline Infrastructure Capacity Optimization Program.

    OBJECTIVES OF THE MISSION:

    We are seeking an intern to assist the Alstom TMS (Traffic Management System) department. You will be part of the Mainline Infrastructure Capacity Optimization Program team, tasked with evaluating cutting-edge Machine Learning technologies for potential application in the railway sector, specifically focusing on enhancing the efficiency of the train mainline network and addressing key challenges faced by our customers.

    The goal is to conduct an in-depth analysis to determine the most suitable technology for enhancing mainline operational scenarios in a way that adds value to Infrastructure Managers in the railway industry. This analysis will cover both technical and business aspects, including a comparative study of identified technologies against those currently utilized in urban-metro settings, in collaboration with other Alstom departments.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MISSION:

    • Review the latest AI-based machine learning technologies applicable to the railway mainline sector.
    • Conduct a thorough analysis of customer requirements.
    • Collaborate with the team to define use cases based on customer needs.
    • Establish criteria and KPIs (technical and business-oriented) for the selection of main use cases.

    PROFILE:

    Educational background: Bachelor's Degree

    Technical skills required: Machine Learning, Computer Science. Proficiency in French is advantageous for liaising with AI centers in Saint Ouen, Paris.

    Behavioral skills sought: High motivation, teamwork spirit, creativity.

    Duration: 6 months

    Location: Bologna, Italy
