Your 'day to day':


As Planning Specialist, you will be part of Global Technical Materials Planning for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna and will be reporting to the Supervisor Global TM Inventory Planning.

The position will be based in Bologna, Italy.

In your role you will Plan inventory needed to meet target service levels at the minimum cost.


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Deploy global technical materials processes and practices in the affiliates
  • Develop new global technical materials standard processes and practices
  • Lead local, regional, and global projects to further improve spare parts inventory and service level
  • Develop and improve analytical tools to define the most suitable stock levels
  • Define the optimum inventory strategy per production equipment and planned usage
  • Analyze consumption trends, generates inventory proposals, and aligns with maintenance
  • Ensure regional ERP alignment (Roles & transactions)
  • Define and follow TM planning parameters
  • Coordinate with Process Control and Procurement in last time buy execution
  • Analyze and escalate inventory exceptions: initial stocking; ROP and Criticality reviews, system scrapping
  • Coordinate backoffice planning admin transactional activities execution and reporting
  • Identify opportunities, simulate, and coordinate proactive spare parts redistribution

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in scientific/technical area (e.g. Chemistry, Food Technology, Engineering)
  • Min 2 years' seniority, with experience in spare part inventory management
  • Good understanding of supply chain
  • Knowledge of inventory and transfer analysis
  • Understanding of stock pooling opportunities and costs
  • Communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Technical knowledge on Facility Management, Logistics, Energy Management is a Plus
  • Problem solving, Analytical skills, Action orientation, Interpersonal Savvy, Creativity.
