Purpose of the Job
Sub-System PrEM is Engineering representative among project core team for Tilting, BMS and sensors development.

He must manage engineering core team in Software/Sensors Design and development.

He must manage engineering core team to reach its QCD (Quality Cost Delivery) commitment and represents his/her team at system level meetings.

He applies and promotes the Team, Trust & Action values of the company.

Responsibilities

Accountable for:

Sub-System PrEM is accountable for

Technical decisions taken with his/her design/development/validation team.
Delivery of Software Packages
Delivery of Sub-System delivery

Main management missions:

Responsible for:

Managing Project (or R&D or Sustaining) Engineering activities by delivering Engineering Work Package in compliance with the Engineering QCD commitment.
Representing Engineering among project core team and manages interfaces with stakeholders according to defined network and links.
Representing Alstom Project Engineering:
In front of customer is responsible to provide the global view of project progress, issues, and risks. For detailed technical discussions, PrEM can delegate to the proper team member (TSE, Expert ).
In front of project partners is responsible to ensure that the inputs/outputs and design reviews are intime, with the expected quality level.
Providing to his management regular reporting and performance analysis trough the KPIs.
Managing functionally the project engineering core team (System, Software, Validation, RAMS, V&V and quality) and their commitment for the project.
Escalating to Sub-System Manager (Tilting & BMS) staffing issues (understaffing, competences, subcontracting problems, under performance ).

Engineering QCD Management:

Responsible for:

Owning engineering work package and is responsible for it.
Following and updates baseline on a regular basis.
Validate Variation Orders demands (external or internal) requested by project.
Managing the Global Scheduling Convergence, with support of Engineering Planning Manager.
Managing the Operational Quality to improve Project execution, with support of Engineering Quality Manager:
Plans necessary Design Reviews.
Follow-Up Engineering quality issues.
Manages engineering points within DFQ (Design For Quality) Gate Review checklists.
Ensure the proper action plan execution to mitigate a No-Go risk.

Risks & Savings

Responsible for:

Managing Engineering risks mitigation and savings action plans:
Provides to the System Project Manager all the inputs to update Risk Analysis Mitigation Plan (RAMP) and the Saving Action Management Plan (SAMP).
Updates Engineering work package accordingly.
Managing, communicating, and escalating on critical paths linked to Engineering.

Job Specifications

Knowledge & Experience:

Engineer profile is a must.

Software Project Management is a plus.

English is a must.
