Who are we looking for?

  • A passionate individual, enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the world's forests and eager to contribute to their protection and improvement through the development and execution of innovative forestry and environmental projects;
  • A technically skilled person, who is already acquainted with forestry and environmental sciences and is ready to dive deeper into the development and execution of forest and ecosystem restoration projects with positive impacts on climate, water and biodiversity;

  • A person with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with a predisposition to work in a team and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders;

Role and responsibilities

The person will work within Etifor's FORESTS Program and report to the Program Coordinator.


The selected person will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts and projects end-to-end related to forest and ecosystem restoration.

This includes the following main activities:
a. areas scouting and feasibility assessments, including due diligence for investments;
b. project design, including the definition of activities, deliverables, deadlines, and assembling effective working teams;
c. project budgeting, ensuring financial viability and efficient resource allocation;
d. project's team lead and coordination;
e. external suppliers selection and supervision;
f. project accounting and administrative tasks management, including the preparation of technical and administrative documents and reports;
g. project's internal and external communication management, developing and maintaining positive relationships with project stakeholders, including clients and partners, to ensure project success and stakeholder satisfaction;
- support the measurement, reporting and verification of climate, water and biodiversity impacts according to best practices and most relevant standards;
- support the development of new project proposals and tenders for Italian and international clients and project bids related to forest and ecosystem restoration.

These responsibilities may be revised to leverage the specific skills and ambitions of the individual.

Education

Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following roles:

  • consultant or employee for private companies or public entities dealing with forest management, land planning, nature-based solutions design, carbon projects development, and other topics relevant for the job;
- researcher, collaborator or scholar in university departments dealing with the topics that are relevant for the job;
- agronomist and/or forestry technician, either as self-employed worker or in associated firms;
- other work, research and/or volunteer experience related to topics relevant for the job.

Required skills

  • Fluent in Italian, with a good command of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent analytical skills to efficiently carry out data organization, analysis and reporting tasks;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with clear and effective written communication and active listening abilities, enabling effective engagement and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Problemsolving approach and ability to maintain positive communication with colleagues and clients;
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS,...). Knowledge of other software and tolls relevant for the job will be considered a plus.
  • Driver's license and access to a car are preferred.
