ROLE SUMMARY:


  • The International School of Milan is seeking an Early Years / Lower Elementary Teacher to cover a maternity leave for approximately 1 year, starting in August 2024.

Our school
Founded in 1958, IS Milan caters for over 900 students from more than 60 nationalities.

Our campus, which opened in September 2013, incorporates specialist classrooms, labs, libraries, arts and music areas, as well as a theatre, swimming pool, full-size gymnasium and swimming pool.

We also opened our Boarding House in 2018, which has added greatly to the sense of family at IS Milan.


  • All of our sections are fully authorised for International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes
  • Primary Years Programme (PYP) from Early Years to Grade 6; Middle Years Programme (MYP) from Grades 7 to 11; Diploma Programme (DP) in Grades 12 and 13. ISM is the longest established IB world school in Italy and has an excellent record of results in the Diploma.
    The position
  • We strongly value a growth mindset at IS Milan, with ongoing professional reflection and development a core expectation for all staff. Whilst previous experience of the IB PYP programme is always advantageous, we are also very interested in applicants who are seeking to develop their experience through acquiring PYP expertise. Initial PYP training will be provided to the successful applicant, who will be expected to continue to show innovation and creativity in the pursuit of ever higher standards of teaching and learning, throughout their IS Milan careers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • The teacher accepting this role will work in an Early Years classroom as the class teacher. Teachers at ISM embrace diversity, within our international setting, ensuring that learning is inclusive of students of all nationalities, profiles and linguistic abilities. They ensure that student agency is at the centre of the learning experience, encouraging innovation and creativity, within a caring and principled learning environment.
