Junior Biomedical Laboratory Technician position with experience in Next Generation Sequencing data production

Commitment and contract: fixed term contract, full time_
Location: Aosta_

YOUR TEAM

You'd be working in a multi-disciplinary group, where people with different backgrounds collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out the research.

The non-coding RNAs and RNA-based therapeutics Research Line is coordinated by Prof.

Stefano Gustincich, with a well-established academic record in the field of the functional genomics of non-coding RNAs and RNA therapeutics.

Molecular biology basic techniques (PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid extraction and purification, Sanger sequencing, etc).
Biological samples processing and storage
DNA/RNA starting material quality/quantity control.
NGS libraries preparation from RNA (RNAseq, SmallRNAseq, etc) and DNA (whole genome, whole exome, etc) according to the most common and widely employed protocols (probes capturing, amplicons based, etc).
DNA/RNA libraries quality/quantity assessment.
Sequencing RUN Management on Illumina and ONT platforms.
Sequencing RUN preliminary quality metrics, basic evaluation.
Familiarity with any liquid handling automation systems will be appreciated.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE

A bachelor degree in Biomedical laboratory techniques (L/SNT3) Biomedical Laboratory Techniques
Professional Qualification as Biomedical Laboratory Technician
Good knowledge of the English language
Excellent organizational skills
Familiarity with the main IT software packages, including Word and Excel
A cooperative approach with the stakeholders
Accuracy and good analytical skills

EXTRA AWESOME

A master in Biological Science, Biotechnology, or a similar discipline
Documented experience in the NGS field.
Good communication skills
Strong problem solving attitude
High motivation to learn
Spirit of innovation and creativity
Good in time and priority management
Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary and multicultural environment
