Job Description Summary:

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years.

We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

Avio Aero is more and more reinforcing the focus to excellence in aeronautical Mechanical Low pressure turbines (LPT).


In this spirit, we are looking for a design engineer, expected to cover the role of hardware owner for the LPT cases of an important Program, thus representing the focal point for all the relevant design activities within the Services Engineering organization, with particular focus to design modifications, new engine missions, technical design substantiations for new repair activities, investigations, customer support, through a deep collaboration with CAD and FEM specialists and with the other Team functions.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Build technical knowledge expertise in LPT casings design, including interactions with other components at LPT module and engine levels.
  • Proactively support and coordinate activities within the commodity and with other Company departments and Suppliers for product design modifications, post certification activities and costout
  • Develop component design to achieve the objectives of cost, performance and life
  • Issue technical documents (ie drawings, reports, specifications)

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical or aeronautical preferred) or High School Diploma in related field with experience in similar roles
  • English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral
  • PC proficiency
  • Experience with FEM tools (preferred Ansys)
  • Work Visa, according with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in mechanical design
  • Basic experience with CAD tools (preferred Unigraphics)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
