Overview:
The Facilities Operations Coordinator (Operating Engineer) will possess strong technical skills and has performed maintenance in industrial environments.

They will support as the first line of response to breakdowns, troubleshoot problems, will be able to manage outside contractors, be on call for emergencies, ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet timelines.

Finally, the Facilities Tech will develop plans on how to accomplish departmental and distribution goals.


Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Regional FM and working as part of the overall Facilities Team, the Facilities Operations Coordinator (FOC) will manage a range of hard services and soft service providing the necessary support to ensure the efficient and effective running of the site.


Main Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and troubleshoot issues on base build systems and related electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Maintain a safetyfirst culture by promoting and driving safe work practices timely training, best practices as well as delivering rewards and recognitions to promote safe behaviour.
  • Implement Preventive Maintenance programs and manage the main CMMS system and reporting
  • Ability to maintain, and troubleshoot basic power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials
  • Oversee Building Operating and Maintenance manuals managing updates when necessary.
  • Site Inspections (with other members of Facility Team) and not limited to liaison with relevant regulatory bodies including Safety groups
- putting in place action plans when appropriate
  • Management of local supplier base providing maintenance, project activity and reactive repairs
  • Tracking of utility usage (electric, water, gas) and creation of innovative ideas to remove impact on the environment.
  • Attendance to unplanned maintenance activity. Response and activity relating to Trouble Ticket (remedy) requests
- responding within agreed SLA's
  • Management and tracking of Building Operations stock including but not limited to: Bulbs, Filters, Power supplies, etc
  • Manage daily health & safety issues maintaining regular scheduled meetings and records of the fire and safety life safety/safety equipment/training
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization
  • Ability to provide enriched feedback to enhance individual performance

Physical Demands:


  • Lift and move items up to 49 pounds each
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head
  • Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds
  • Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
  • Walking in the DC and around area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length
  • Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
  • Ability to work in construction /distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not airconditioned
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 1012 hours
  • Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, etc.)

Operational Support & Customer Service:


  • Promoting and conduct good housekeeping practices
  • Support of daily cleaning inspection
  • Provide support as required with resolving issues in the canteen/restaurant areas when/if required
  • Small Project Management / Creation of Budget & Activity Plan for Site Improvements
  • Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner
  • Must be highly selfmotivated and customercentric
  • Security Guards Coordination (when present on site)
  • All other tasks and duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (country specific)
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field (country specific)
  • Ability to work day shifts Monday to Friday on site this is not a Hybrid role
  • Experience and proficiency in the following areas:
  • Electrical principles
  • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
  • Preventative maintenance procedures
  • PC literacy
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors
  • Must be highly selfmotivated and customercentric
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory maintenance requirements for client's assets as well as of Contract Management.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field, or four year apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
  • Able to manage, lead, and influence others on the team
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize many different projects and workload
  • IPAF qualification (country specific)
  • EHS qualification
  • A clean driving li
