Apolline Beghin

As a last year student in a Circular Economy and Sustainability Master in the Graduate School of Management of Politecnico di Milano, I am currently looking for a job beginning in May 2023. After graduating as a French Engineer (Master level), I decided to deepen my knowledge in the sustainability field by enrolling in this additional master in Sustainability in Milan. This choice was driven by my strong interest in all sustainability aspects and my wish to combine them abroad with my French engineer degree skills.

During my engineering cursus, I completed different 6-month internships. During my gap year, I realized my first internship as a Supply Chain Transportation Engineer at L’Oréal during the first months of Covid. This internship allowed me to learn about the constant evolution of working methods. It also showed me how decision processes worked in a tense and unpredictable environment. I played an active role in a global tender to optimize transportation flows of L’Oréal’s EMEA zone. During the selection phase, an important aspect of the negotiation with the finalists was based on their ability to carry out rail deliveries to limit their CO2 footprint. I was impressed by the fact that sustainability was taken into account for the final decision of the whole carriers’ group in L’Oréal.

After this fascinating operational experience, I wanted to discover the consulting world. I carried out an additional 6-month internship as an Organizational Consultant in the Healthcare sector at Adopale. Working on a wide range of assignments helped me to understand the daily activity of a consultant and comforted me that my analytical and relationship skills can help me succeed in a consulting environment. This gap year was a turning point for me as it helped me strengthen both my hard and soft skills. This experience also helped me understand that the sustainability topic is key for me.

During my Erasmus in Politecnico di Torino, I chose classes on sustainable production, product innovation and renewal energies. I wish to continue this path and have a positive ecological impact in my professional and personal life.

Before graduating, I did my end-of-studies internship as a Green Supply Chain Consultant at Etyo Green Insight. During this internship, I got involved in various topics with a deep sustainable impact, such as energy efficiency, urban flow optimization, and the creation and implementation of an ESG roadmap for a warehouse with a feasibility and cost-benefit analysis. I also participated to the BCorp certification of Etyo.

Climate change being a global issue, I decided to deepen my knowledge abroad. I thus enrolled in the specialized Master in Sustainability and Circular Economy of Politecnico di Milano and fell in love with the lively city as well as the Italian culture and language. This Master enabled me to develop my sustainability skills and combine them with my engineering training. To leverage these skills, I wish to work as a Sustainability Consultant. This experience is in line with my deep environment and social concerns, my problem solving skills and my plug-and-play personality that I acquired following my various experiences.
