My name is Camilla,  I am an enthusiastic Italian video maker passionate in journalism and with a keen eye for good stories.

I have graduated in 2022 from Buckingham University where I undertook a BA in International Studies and Journalism and an MA in Digital Media and News. I spent almost 4 years working in a news room, initially just as a student, running stories, scripting, reporting, and editing, and eventually as a full time Studio Manager. Working for the Buckingham News weekly bulletin gave me insightful knowledge and hands-on practical experience on how create and deliver a news package. It was during all that training that my strong passion for video making arose.

I have produced more than 50 stories during my time in the UK, mostly running the filming and editing. I have extensive knowledge of Final Cut and good knowledge of Premier Pro. I love bringing images together, giving them meaning and sharing their powerful messages. This passion of mine led me to work for the the ITCILO in Turin. This UN agency is an advanced technical and vocational training institution dedicated to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 8: decent work for all women and men.

As I begun this journey as an Intern in 2022 I was immediately thrown into an international environment where I had the chance to create promotional videos for which I interviewed prominent guests. I was also given the responsibility of filming and editing an entire movie for an online module. My relationship with the agency continued even after the conclusion of my internship. I am today a consultant for the Organisational Development and Project Services Programme for which I carry on working on digital content creation, including tutorials and master classes.

My latest personal project has been a shot documentary on pre-hispanic medicine that I shot in Mexico in June 2023. I lived among an indigenous community near Palenque, Chiapas, where I had the opportunity to really get into the Mayan culture, rich in customs and ancient knowledge. During this experience I put into practice not only my filming and editing skills, but my organisational capabilities, in terms of logistics, equipment needed, but also filming scheduling and storytelling.

I learnt how to use those forms of communication that are international and that can pass through boarders without any need of explanation. I realised the importance of human connection, and how, above all, the most useful skill to have when you shooting a story, is to be deeply interested in what you investigating. I believe that cultivating genuine curiosity can turn into your most positive asset.

I wish now to continue on this creative path, however moving to a more newsy environment, where I can be continuously challenged in front of different people and their stories.
