Giacomo Marcon

My key responsibility areas involve strategic analysis in mathematical and statistical data that further results in optimising technical aspects of our portfolio. In addition to this I have also contributed as a Software developer with the IT dept. to improve the efficiency of the internal processes with the development of software solutions. Furthermore for some clients of my company I have collaborated in the validation of some computerized systems.

Currently I've been working for a consulting company related to IT sector: in my job I cooperate with the IT dept. and the PMO dept. performing statistical and mathematical analysis of data and developing programs in order to improve the efficiency of the processes and decisions in the company. I also cooperate with IT team in validating computerized systems for the different clients of my company: for this reason I am used to interacting with different teams depending on the jobs I’m assigned to.

I got a Msc degree in Physics and during my university career I conducted many experiments, where I wrote many scientific reports and used many advanced statistical and mathematical tools, such as advanced statistical methods to determine the size of the imperfections in a frosted glass starting from thousands of images of the shadows projected on a CCD or statistical tests to find the best method for analyzing how good a few different examples of particle detectors were starting from big data. What help me a lot in my career are my deep passion for science, my determination and my knowledge of different programming languages used in data analysis such as Matlab, Python and MySQL. I’m also a fast learner and I can quickly master new software. In my free time I have also deepened my knowledge on Machine Learning techniques and strengthened my knowledge of other programming languages.
