Luca Ulfo

Sono laureato in Biologia, specializzato in Biotecnologie Molecolari e Industriali e ho conseguito un dottorato in Biologia Molecolare e Cellulare occupandomi di terapie innovative virus-based per il cancro. 

I am a dedicated molecular biologist with extensive experience in virus-based technologies and cancer therapy research. Currently, I am working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa. My research focuses on the advanced molecular engineering of M13 phages as targeted nanocarriers for neuronal stimulation, offering innovative therapeutic strategies for Parkinson’s Disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. During my Ph.D. at the University of Bologna, I successfully developed a nanobiotechnological platform utilizing M13 phages for photodynamic, sonodynamic, and photothermal cancer therapies. My journey began with internships where I gained valuable hands-on experience in phage-mediated anticancer therapy and molecular identification techniques, which laid the foundation for my current research endeavors.
