As a highly motivated and ambitious woman with 9+ years of experience in the fashion and design industry, I possess a unique set of skills and expertise in areas such as womenswear design, buying, communications, e-commerce, social media, marketing and visual merchandising. I am very confident in my design abilities with a keen eye for detail, and have a proven track record of success. I am a fast learner, who thrives in diverse teams and communities, and am always looking to expand my knowledge and improve my skills.

After 18 months as Rip Curl’s Junior Designer   gained essential skills and experience that supported my role as Head of Ladieswear in years that followed.  I was able to bring a fresh, feminine style to the brand. This new aesthetic was well-received by customers and resulted in a 65% increase in sales figures. After taking over the women, teens and girls at Rip Curl South Africa  in July 2015, Rip Curl’s SS16 and AW17 collections were the best-performing and most successful the brand had ever seen. The industry positively received my feminine and classic approach to the traditionally beach-focused brand.

In 2017, I founded Lucia, a South African women’s clothing brand inspired by European influence. The focus of the brand is to create classic, feminine garments with a touch of luxury. Our goal is to provide women with a luxurious and feminine experience when wearing each piece. We use a specific, yet overwhelmingly feminine color palette in our designs. My team and I take great pride in creating locally designed and manufactured women’s clothing.
