Manuela Bruno

My name is Manuela, I am a 24-year-old Italian girl and I am currently attending my last year of university in the field of Translation. I have always been interested in the world of translation and localisation: in 2022, I obtained a degree as a linguistic mediator at the University of Turin and, in 2023, I had the opportunity to study abroad for a year, obtaining a double degree in English Translation and Interpreting at the University Pablo de Olavide, in Seville. In addition to my mother tongue, I have advanced skills in Spanish (C1) and intermediate skills in English (B2). As a result of my studies, I had the opportunity to practice both direct and indirect translation and to use computer-assisted translation programmes such as Trados, Wordfast and Omega T. In addition, I studied and practised software translation (html language), web sites translation and game translation.  Moreover, I am able to establish relationships with people of different ages, nationalities and cultures thanks to the Erasmus experience made in 2023. I can communicate and work in a clear and precise way, responding to specific requests. Excellent problem-solving and self-management skills.

During the high school, I had two internships: I worked 1 month in the administrative office at the municipality of my city and 2 months as a receptionist at the Best Western Plus Executive hotel in Turin. After high school, I took a gap year and worked as a supermarket salesperson for a year. In 2019, I then resumed my studies at the university. 

2019-2022: Degree in Linguistic Mediation 
2022-2023: Double degree in English Translation and Interpreting

Currently attending the last year at the Faculty of Translation in Turin.
