 I have been teaching in different countries and institution, both EAP at universities and ESL in private schools. I also have academic publications and have presented my research at various conferences. This reflects my desire to face new challenges, interact with different varieties of students and participate in different educational environments, primarily academic. This gives me a broader view of the academic English teaching field and allows me not only to expand my experience, but also to improve my adaptation and teaching skills to different environments and students. I’m also always interested in carrying out research to advance the knowledge of the field. Each class is different, each student has different strengths and weaknesses as well as preferred ways of learning, and considering this is, for me, fundamental. I see students not as a mass, but as individuals, so that I can provide effective feedback to improve their learning. In my experience, it was feedback that propelled students’ learning making their essays or presentation more successful and, most importantly, understanding the key elements of academic language and research skills. This will to face diversity is what makes your institution interesting to me and also the high standards you maintain that I have read in the profile of your website. It is an experience which I would love to have and I am capable to create a relaxing environment for students to promote their learning while engaging in interactive activities and ask questions with confidence and without being shy. My classes are student centered, and I encourage to figure things out for themselves and elicit their knowledge. They see me not as a giver of knowledge but as a friend who’s there to guide and help them. I have always received excellent feedback from the hundreds of students I worked with through surveys which can be accessed and I am still in touch with many of them. I have also had the experience of teaching online and it was a most precious experience as I learned and honed my skills of using digital platforms and VLEs to get students engaged and participating, which may be a challenge. I also found extremely useful to provide one to one pastoral care and feedback on written work, seeing great results afterwards.
