Ascendis Pharma is a fast-growing biopharmaceutical company with locations in Denmark, Germany, the United States, UK, Italy and Spain.

Today, we successfully launched our first innovative product in the United States and Germany, and we are on the verge of rapid expansion in Europe.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the launch of our endocrinology pipeline and make significantly impact to our commercial expansion.

We are seeking a passionate Medical Advisor to join our rapidly expanding global commercial organization.

As a medical expert and key member of our Italian team, you will play a crucial role in providing medical expertise and support for Ascendis Pharma's products in Italy, including activities such as medical information dissemination, pharmacovigilance, medical education for healthcare professionals, and supporting clinical trials and regulatory affairs.

You will also collaborate with key opinion leaders (KOL's) and contribute to the development and execution of medical strategies and plans.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new established Italian affiliate and to become part of a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional, global teams working together to achieve extraordinary results.

You will be joining the Italian team consisting of a handful passionate and skilled colleagues. The number of colleagues is budgeted to grow significantly in 2024 and 2025.
You will report directly to Paola Stagni, Medical Affairs Director Italy, who is based in Milan, Italy. You will be based in Milan as well.


Your key responsibilities will be:


  • Key contributor to the local medical strategy and scientific communication of Yorvipath and Ascendis Pharma pipeline.
  • Prepares, delivers and followup data dissemination supports for MSL teams aligned with European & Global strategy; delivers dashboard for medical activities including national & MSL reports.
  • Contributes to the marketing strategy, activities, communication and training for both promotional and environmental projects around patient journey in hypoparathyroidism.
  • Medical Affairs referent on all medical topics : marketing, market access, promotion, medical information, pharmacovigilance, etc.; Coordinates MSL and MedInfo for insight and Q&A udpates.
  • Manages strategic and operational aspects of advisory boards (ex. Expert contracts, contributions) with the medical director; leads congress events (lecture,symposium) in accordance with compliance local rules (anticipation, submission to health authorities) and participation to congresses (booth, KOL calls and lectures).
  • Participates in the development of market access activities: note of therapeutic interest, transparency file, etc.) jointly with Market Access dir, regulatory affairs and marketing.
  • Drives clinical study activities : proposal for RWE / phase IV studies to support life cycle management, proofreading of clinical study protocols in collaboration with Global teams and local CRO.

Qualifications and Skills:

You hold a relevant academic degree - preferably a Master's degree or Ph.
D. of medicine or pharmacy - and +5 years of experience within Medical Affairs from the pharmaceutical industry or Biotech.


Furthermore, you have:


  • Experience in rare diseases and/or endocrinology.
  • Experience in project management, and preferably a relevant certification within project mgmt.
  • Current knowledge of the local healthcare industry and policies, relevant pharmaceutical pipelines, and relevant professional associations.
  • High level of proficiency in Italian and English, both written and verbal.
