Job Summary

:

The Manager in hospitality is less of a career choice and more of a lifestyle.

It takes a great amount of dedication, passion, tenacity and an incredible amount of self-sacrifice to do the job well.

Managers work very long hours, often opening and closing the restaurant; double shifts are not uncommon; and holidays are basically nonexistent since time off is rare.

A great majority of your job as an AGM is putting out other people's fires, even if it's not in your job description.

Essential Functions

:

Supervise a team of employees; work to create a cohesive unit of people who effectively communicate; create a hiring process for key staff that ensures qualified hospitable people are selected, trained and retained through top recruiting practices; consider actions of employees in various situations that deem rewarding or disciplinary action

:


  • Ensuring incoming staff complies with company policy; Leaders create Leaders, in the hiring process look for bright and humble people which are willing to grow and have leadership skills who are able to show it with modesty and care for others.

Focus on Hospitality and sequence of service that are outstandingly performed, stand behind your team positively, constantly making their performance better

:


  • Create a comprehensive business plan for the restaurant that considers the market, local competitors, sales revenue and expenses.

Develop strategies to entice customers, including marketing plans, advertising campaigns, community outreach programs and research

:


  • Take ownership of budget and cost control methods; analyze the restaurant budget with personnel to find and price inventory, reduce expenses, review current pricing and consult purchasing strategies if needed

Control operations by developing effective policies, creating higher standards and working to make adjustments to the training manuals when appropriate

:


  • Ensure an outstanding dining experience by regulating presentation, taste, service and atmosphere for all guests; develop ways to cultivate a regular customer pool

  • Consult the higher management regarding any suggestions of music or ambience; it is very important we don't sound like a radio and people actually shazam our music and remember us everytime they rehear that song

Keeping track of employees' hours; manage scheduling and complete bi-weekly payroll closing procedures

The GM will keep the Owner and Management staff promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e., problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action to maximum the dining experience and maintain cost

  • The GM will complete job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with 1212 and/or La Boheme or Settecento policies and procedures. In addition, he or she will maintain a favorable
