MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The V&A Director will report to VP, Global Market Access and Government Affairs.

Due to the impact of this role into the organization it will be part of Extended Italian Senior Management Team (SMT Extended).

He/She will be responsible for the V&A strategy across all AZ TAs.


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

The role broadly includes the following key components:

  • Guarantee to VP MA&GA a solid and robust accountability on all TAs strategic access priorities supporting VP to create full engagement all MA&GA functions (V&A, FMA, GA, Ext Comm, PAG), to align resources and activities to support successful, full and rapid patient access.
  • Develop a strategic framework to evaluate and provide pricing & access assumptions for MTP forecasts and ensure alignment with crossfunctional partners in the BBU and OBU xfunctional organizations.
  • Coordinate the V&A Heads, IVS and Pricing in order to ensure each brand plan have resources for brand and TAs access activities related to all MA&GA functions (V&A, FMA, Ext Comm, PAG, GA)
  • Lead and guide the collaboration with crossfunctional leaders across organization to provide Italy insights to GMAP/OMAP acting as main point of contact
  • Lead on prioritarization to key Italy V&A priorities for:
  • BC preparation for pricing approval
  • Dossiers preparation and approval for HTA first submissions, new indications, revision of conditions and renegotiations
  • Preparedness of HTA/Pricing negotiation and lead of MC delegation
  • Demonstrate multifaceted understanding of target disease states and market dynamics to advise strategic access development and reimbursement potential
  • Guarantee an optimal MC3 process and utilize payer insights for input to the design, execution, and analyses of clinical studies or evidence generation (medical and HE/HO) in order to build clinical and economic evidence and value messages that resonate with payers
  • Ensure evidence strategies align to the strategic direction and partner with HEOR and medical to generate Italy specific evidence to optimize potential for reimbursement success
  • Evaulate the opportunity for specific IVS agreement with IVS, V&A and pricing teams
  • Develop an Lead the Access Pipeline plan and look for SMT engagement and endorsement of key priorities to improve AZ strategic vision, and prioritize activities on pipeline preparing the organization and optimize launch planning
  • Oversight the Value Story adaptation to local market and regional access strategy, with a strong engagement of FMA Head
  • V&A project definition to support national and regional TA and brand topics or corporate objectives (eg P&R for new indication)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech Market Access Leadership roles in similar complexity environment, including the following skills:
  • Italy Market Access experience in several TAs / Hospital and retail products
  • Regulatory experience
  • Market understanding and shaping
  • Strategic planning and competitive market access knowledge
  • Pipeline market access strategy development
  • Direct leadership in pricing negotiations with AIFA
  • Clinical trial design knowledge and impact on reimbursement
  • Experience in evaluating target product profiles and providing strategic mentorship to BUDs, finance, Medical, global organizations to improve pricing and access upon launch
  • History of performance in managing towards business objectives
  • Proven track record of managing business challenges and making appropriate tradeoffs to meet business objectives
