Job Description:

Main responsibilities:


  • As the Head of Ecommerce, you are responsible to develop and execute strategy to drive profitable online channel growth. This entails all aspects of the ecommerce business including customer offer and brand experience, commercial calendar, sales, digital platform and digital development.
  • You are responsible for B2B/B2C service offering and will work closely with all other departments within Merkle Italia such as CRM services, cloud solutions, data & analytics, sales, alliances and marketing & communication teams to ensure cross channel alignment in customer experience, strategy and branding.
  • You are a natural and experienced leader that focuses on coaching and developing your team to achieve success. You manage, motivate and inspire your Ecommerce teams to reach the sales, growth and company goals. Finding and recruiting the best talents, developing people and working with longterm succession planning is a natural part of your job.
  • You define and develop Merkle Italia digital sales strategy in cohesion with the overall seamless sales strategy and Merkle Italia brand vision. You have the overall responsibility to drive the development of sales growth across all existing, as well as new clients. You continuously improve and innovate the whole ecommerce offering to optimize selling.
  • You have full budget and P&L responsibility for the eCommerce offering and work close together with dentsu Italy's other service lines (Media and Creative).
  • You strive to constantly optimize the offer by driving analysis and taking actions accordingly. Monitor and evaluate the Italian digital market in search of new opportunities and challenges. Continuously monitor upcoming trends and developments. Drive unique digital strategy and vision via the ecommerce team.

Qualifications:


  • A broad business and digital background with experience in digital development and sales optimization
  • A natural and experienced leader that focus on coaching and developing the team to achieve success
  • Proven work (a minimum of 8 years' experience experience) as a manager managing large teams within Ecommerce and digital, preferably in Italy and with an omnichannel mindset
  • Proven knowledge of the main ecommerce platforms: Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, SquareSpace etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Italian ecommerce market and main players
  • Proven track record of successfully leading Ecommerce implementations (use cases and examples to be provided), preferably in the Italian market
  • Proven ability in leading, developing, motivating and inspiring a team with a global outlook leading teams on distance.
  • As a leader, being analytical and strategical as well as hands on and always find ways forward through engaging and inspiring the team and stakeholders
  • Commercial as well as strategic mindset and understanding of forward planning and creative solutions
  • Experience of being an active and inspiring part of the management team
  • University Degree educated (or equivalent) in business management and/or information technology
  • Excellent verbal and written Italian and English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong brand ambassador
