SUMMARY:

Responsible for establishing and promoting the maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace. This role recommends measures to reduce and/or eliminate accidents and illnesses while complying with all federal, state, local and company rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Investigate accidents; triage injuries; work with clinics/doctors and prepare reports for insurance carrier; maintain records related to safety and injuries.

Consult internally with all departments concerning employee assignments and absence related to injury and/or illness; consult with physicians and department leadership regarding availability of restricted job assignments.

Perform monthly and/or quarterly inspections for safety concerns and facility compliance; ensure maintenance of building access controls.

Creates, delivers, deploys, and coordinates safety training initiatives.

Recommend measures to reduce/eliminate accidents and illnesses. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

Act as a point of contact for employees with questions about safety, PPE, and/or disability.

Develops and implements site safety programs; enforces corporate safety programs. Partner with environmental vendors to complete annual compliance documentation.

Administer company program for personal protective equipment. May lead, coach or mentor less experienced team members.

Participate in L3 and other initiatives; promote and maintain good employee relations.

Act as liaison between employees, identify and solve employee problems and advocate a strong employee contact with an open door policy.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school Diploma

Four – six years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Senior level professional with in-depth knowledge of own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Works independently with minimal guidance; solves complex problems; may lead projects or steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing projects and objectives; act as a resource for less experienced team members. May represent the career level of the role.B2 English Level
