Sales Manager Instruments (POIS point of Instruments Sales) Italy
You've established your people management and leadership ability. Here's where you take it further.

You'll manage assigned sales personnel to achieve unit revenues and expense objectives, assign territories to representatives and play your part in negotiations with key customers.

As well as managing budget and resources, and developing direct reports, you'll also assist in planning strategy and training sales staff.

You will lead an experienced team of sales employees spread across the Country.

Your team is charged with selling an expansive chromatography, mass spectrometry and spectroscopy portfolio to the Italian life sciences and chemical analysis market to large enterprise endeavors as well as to small and mid-size companies.

You are responsible for driving growth, business retention, development of the team capabilities, a consistent customer experience in line with the Agilent brand promise of Trusted Answers and a healthy margin for the company.

Growth will be achieved through wallet share gain in existing accounts as well as new customer acquisition.

You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand the challenges and identify opportunities whilst find innovative solutions to address such needs.

You must be able to communicate with all management levels and business operations within the company and moreover, in our complex customer environment.

Internally, you will be working with the LSS CRM (Country Responsible Manager) and with your peers within the Country to drive a One Agilent approach to meet customer needs whilst differentiating against our competitors.

In addition, you will work with marketing to define specific outbound plans that will create awareness in the market of Agilent's value proposition for the instrument and solutions portfolio.


Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize sales coverage in the assigned Sales District. This includes hiring, development and performance management of the team
  • Full responsibility for driving market share gain in the district with and an emphasis on becoming the recognized premier instrument and solution provider in small/medium and Enterprise accounts.
  • Responsibility for sales forecasting, order performance and deal approval. This includes the achievement of annual business growth rates as well as delivering such results with an optimal cost of sales.
  • Maintenance and expansion of Sales Funnel in partnership with Marketing.
  • Customer experience in line with the company brand promise and in partnership with peers within the district.
  • Employee engagement through coaching and meaningful development plans that enable employee personal growth as well as adaption of skills to the market needs.
  • Responsible to drive the development of the team competency towards the current and future market needs.
  • Partner with other business managers to drive a combined approach with customers demonstrating the value of OneAgilent.
