Villa d'Este is an iconic five-star luxury hotel located in Cernobbio, on Lake Como.

Amongst the finest expressions of mid-sixteenth-century architecture, it is surrounded by a private 10-hectar park with centennial plants and fascinating work of arts.

A Hotel since 1873, it is today a symbol of timeless luxury and eternal elegance.

Villa d'Este offers 152 rooms and suites divided between the Cardinal's Building and the Queen's Pavilion and 4 private Villas that allow a private and exclusive experience.

Our culinary journey includes 3 restaurants, the elegant Veranda with its refined cuisine, the Grill for more informal yet chic dining and Il Platano, the most intimate of Villa d'Este restaurants.

For a drink or a light snack guests may choose between the elegant Bar Canova and the more relaxed Sundeck by the floating pool.

The hotel also includes the Beauty Centre and the Sporting Club with a heated indoor pool, gym, sauna, Turkish bath, squash court, electronic golf, putting green, fitness trail and 8 tennis courts.

Villa d'Este celebrates its 150th season this year, with special events and the exceptional opening until January 2023.

Position Summary


As a Sales Manager you will be responsible for managing the relationship and the results of a portfolio of accounts in the assigned markets.


Job Description:


  • Become an Ambassador of Villa d'Este, with a deep understanding of its heritage, values and operations
  • Nurture the relationship with new and existing accounts to reach room nights and revenue targets
  • Proactively drive business by thinking creatively, developing and designing new strategies, ideas and relationships
  • Identify new business opportunities based on market and trends knowledge, clients' feedback and awareness of comp set activities
  • Establish and implement sales plans and initiatives in the assigned markets to increase market share
  • Qualify business and efficiently followup on all enquiries with purpose and a personalized touch
  • Travel to key destinations within the geo markets for sales calls, roadshows and tradeshows
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct site inspections, client entertainment and familiarization trips on group properties
  • Contribute to the strategy and planning of the sales function
  • Proactively make recommendations based on clients' feedback to continuously improve the hotel operations
  • Work closely with the reactive group and events sales team to maximize leads conversion
  • Use the property CRM system to manage accounts, leads and sales activities following property guidance
  • Develop account plans and objectives, timescale and sales actions to support the accounts development and opportunities
  • Generate timely and accurate sales results in the form of reports and presentations
Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in luxury hotels in a similar position
  • Exceptional communication skills and high level of hospitality and professionalism
  • Strategic focus to excellence and results driven
  • Strong written and spoken Italian and English
  • Legal right to work in Italy
