Job Description Summary:

At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years.

We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering leader demonstrates accountability for functional business and broad company objectives.

In this role you will integrate, develop strategy and processes and implement changes that meet business needs across the organization.

You will manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long term planning and contribute to the overall business strategy.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Create network and collaborate with GE Aviation, Universities, suppliers research centers to determine the best industrial organization and footprint
  • Ensure uptodate technology benchmarking
  • Ensure R&D initiatives are sustained through public funding opportunities
  • Provide support to CoEs in managing industrialization and process improvements
  • Collaborate with Chief Manufacturing Engineering to provide manufacturing strategy and technical expertise for each commodity
  • Collaborate with Engineering and CoEs Manufacturing Engineering to identify needs and develop new technologies
  • Support Production Readiness Review and MRL processes
  • Collaborate on APQP, Producibility and other Quality initiatives
  • Provide support and guidance for feasibility studies, selection and industrialization of new equipment's and technologies
  • Collaborate with Cost Estimation team to elaborate feasibility studies
  • Collaborate with NPI leader team to support new products industrialization
  • Collaborate with ATO in NTI initiatives
  • Identify and develop Advanced Technology projects to support business targets and new product needs
  • Support Know How management through best practices and standardization and knowledge dissemination
  • Cooperate with Chief Manufacturing Engineering in growing Manufacturing Engineering professional family
  • Drive simplification and process improvement
  • Develop, execute, motivate others on strategies, measurements, and operating mechanisms to deliver business results

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree
  • Strong and proven experience in a leadership role: lead teams and shape/lead growth vision and strategy, ability to motivate teams and work well with diverse, crossfunctional teams
  • Significant technical competence on products and processes, obtained in Design Engineering,
  • Manufacturing Engineering or Production Engineering background
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Proven track record of driving teams to deliver on business goals and commitments
  • Demonstrated clear thinking skills as evidenced by the ability to sift through complex information and focus on the critical priorities and translate strategy into business objectives with clear accountability
  • Ability to "see around the corners" and understand how to anticipate industry technical and market landscape shifts and proactively attack opportunities
  • Ability to build connection to key stakeholders and establish credibility quickly and manage and resolve conflicts
  • Senior experience in leading multidiscipline engineering/technical teams
  • Strong process discipline with sound analytic and statistical skills
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning
  • Experience in Lean and Lean Manufacturing
  • Fluency in English and Italian
  • EU work permit
