Hauptaufgaben

Incumbent receives and unloads supplies from containers, trucks and freight cars. Check items received against shipping documents and annotate any discrepancies. Moves items by hand, handcart or forklift and places in appropriate permanent or temporary location in the warehouse. Sorts out bad containers and brings to the attention of the supervisor. Performs warehousing operations to individual loading and offloading of items and moving items to storage locations. Participates in periodic and/or special inventories and location surveys by counting stocks and/or verifying locations in the warehouse and the maintenance facility. Determines exact weight, cube, number and types of containers (e.g., pallet, metal drum, box) and identifies any other material that requires special handling. Controls loading methods, and assures items are properly blocked, braced, marked and tagged. Operates a forklift to move, stack, unstack, load and unload materials.
NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08.00 to 17.00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.

1. ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION;
2. WORK PRACTICES (INCLUDES KEEPING THINGS NEAT, CLEAN AND IN ORDER);
3. TECHNICAL PRACTICES (THEORETICAL, PRECISE);
4. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATION, ETC;
5. KNOWLEDGE OF MATERIALS;
6. DEXTERITY AND SAFETY.
