Responsibilities
Below a detailed, but not thorough, list of responsibilities of the Institutional Sales Manager:

  • Identify and internally propose institutional sales opportunities from Space Agencies and governments.
  • Study the overall space market with focus on company possible partners, customers, and competitors to create consortium for specific calls.
  • Assemble and manage a bid team (within the company management, business development, communication and the technical team) that has the skills to prepare and submit a winning proposal, whilst taking ownership of the endtoend bid process.
  • Write the proposal document coordinating and receiving inputs from business, communication, and technical team.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Keep track of all costs and manage budgets.
  • After the proposal submission, the institutional sales manager remains involved through the presentation and negotiation stages, ensuring all lessons learned are fed back and implemented.
  • Periodically report updates to the marketing and sales manager.
  • Visit partners, Space Agencies, EC and other entities, organize and host presentations.
  • Identify, participate to, and organize B2B meetings at aerospace events worldwide. Organize the post event followup activities.

Requirements:

Please find below the list of requirements that need to be met:

  • Master's degree in engineering (or another technical relevant discipline) or business.
- +2 years of experience within the space sector, preferably as a bid writer/institutional sales manager within the space sector.

  • Previous work experience within European institutional stakeholders (ESA, EC, etc.) is mandatory.
  • Excellent space industry knowledge (both New Space and traditional space) and a willingness to keep up with trends.
  • Proficient English is mandatory. Any additional language is advantageous.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. It requires strong people management and commercial skills.
