Our mission is to accelerate the reduction in Europe's reliance on fossil fuels, and we have already established a portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects, with our first solar park expected to export power by the end of this year.

We are looking for a Consent Manager in Bucharest for DTEK Renewables International, who will develop Italian renewable projects and support in operating projects as required.

This role is an opportunity to shape new assets within the Italian market.

As a Consent (Permit) Manager, you will work as part of the EU Business Development & MA team based in Bucharest.

You will work closely with our Project Development team and our Environment and Sustainability (EnSU) specialist with the aim to develop and secure a suitable project pipeline and consenting regime, especially in the field of the environmental impacts of our future projects.

To do so you will keep up to date with recent policy developments and environmental research programs and coordinate strategic environmental solutions for bids and future projects.


Furthermore, in cooperation with the relevant project packages, you will implement these innovations in our international projects and ensure understanding and compliance with the criteria in relation to consents, with a focus on the environmental impact of our projects, and provide a link to our EnSu team where required.

In cooperation with the EnSu team you will also coordinate manage the delivery of ecological enhancement measures and mitigations that are a key part of the acquired permits and consents


What you will do

  • Your will focus on managing consenting processes during the bid and development phases of projects to secure the necessary permit. Furthermore, it could be required to provide input to projects in O&M phase.
  • During the bid phase, you will provide permit advice to bid managers to assist in in compiling tenders for new offshore wind projects.
  • Once consented, you advise the project team to ensure projects are built in line with permits, provide relevant plans/ documents to authorities and negotiate permit changes as required. Additionally, you may also be required to ensure, that the project is operated in line with the permit.
  • You will be required to work closely with different project packages during the development and construction of the wind farm, as well as with our Certification, Health and Safety, Environment and Sustainability and Communication specialist, and so good cooperation with DTEK colleagues will be essential.
  • Throughout the process, the Consents Manager must understand the risks and opportunities associated with the permit / consent of our various projects and work with the project team to put appropriate strategies in place.
  • You will be required to promote a safetyconscious and sustainable environment.

What you bring

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (for example environmental engineering, planning law, landscape planning or a comparable field of study)
  • Around 35 years' experience in a relevant field
  • Experience of permitting processes and environmental impact assessment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Romanian and English)
  • A wish to work in a (international) multidisciplinary team / team working skills
  • An awareness of renewable energy policy and its impact on project development
  • Ability to multitask and work thoroughly and rapidly to meet deadlines
