  • As a Technical Services Manager, you will lead the Engineering and Maintenance function in a small/medium manufacturing site in
-
Caronno Pertusella with the objective to achieve maximum plant reliability in response to operational activity needs for the local unit.


Reporting to the Site Operations Head, you will:

Strategy design and execution

  • Provide input to the local Operations business plan and related goals with regards to e.g. engineering projects, production capacity, important maintenance activities, changes in equipment, spare parts inventory, etc.
  • Define Site Engineering annual targets and objectives based on functional strategy and leads and monitor their achievement.

Function management

  • Lead a team of Maintenance & Engineering technicians, and contractors, working on different assignments within engineering and maintenance field.
  • Work with Global and Regional Engineering functions to ensure analysis, planning and implementation of global strategies, plans or best practices.
  • Establish site master plans to capture all Capex, engineering and maintenance plans and lead their execution to address internal customer requirements in the short, mid and long term.
  • Provide input to global or regional Capex plans to anticipate impact on local activities and resources.
  • Implement local Capex projects (when approved).
  • Manage all routine engineering and maintenance activities, track progress against plan(s) and implement corrective actions in case of deviation.
  • Deliver the best engineering and maintenance service to clients through maintenance work, local projects and coordinate capital investments on site.
  • Maintain compliance of all assets with applicable legal or company standards, and harmonization of standards within the departments.
  • Implement Group Engineering programs, guidelines and directives and organize regular training to ensure adherence to these and other guidelines/directives (e.g. EHS).
  • Maintain contact to local authorities.
  • Propose budgets and levels of service for engineering and maintenance activities and implement these within approved limit(s).

People management

  • Oversee the execution of annual human resources processes for the local Engineering and Maintenance teams and validate related results.
  • Work with local Operations and regional/global E&M management teams and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a local talent pipeline for the function.
  • Guide the development and promotion of talents within and outside the function.

Academic Background

  • University degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Plant Engineering oe Maintenance certification.

Professional Experience

  • Overall work experience of 4 to 7 years in manufacturing or plant operations, preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical or food industries, including exposure to factory engineering and maintenance strategy and operational maintenance of production equipment.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in industrialization and engineering projects including building, process installation and utilities, from design stage to handover.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Knowledge of TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and project controlling tools.
  • Fluency in both English and Italian languages.
