AIKO is a young, rapidly growing deep tech startup. We develop automation software for space missions to enable and support humanity's ambitions beyond Earth orbit.


BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND SALES MANAGER


The Business Development and Sales team at AIKO is responsible for expanding AIKO's network and selling AIKO products and services to new and existing customers, including satellite operators, satellite manufacturers, and governments.

As our first BD & Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to grow and expand a BD & Sales team and have a high impact on its development.

You will report to the C-level management.

You will take ownership of assigned client relationships, pursuing commercial and institutional business opportunities. While you will receive direct guidance from AIKO's management, your work will be largely self-directed.

Tasks

  • Structure, build, and manage AIKO's business development and sales team
  • Develop and execute a sales and business development strategy to drive revenue growth
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the space industry
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Lead negotiations and close deals with customers and partners
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify and prioritize new product and service offerings
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform business development and sales strategies
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales and business development within the space industry or other highly technological sectors
  • Demonstrated success in achieving revenue targets and closing deals with customers and partners
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel as needed

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Master's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • Fluency in French and/or Italian
  • Experience working for a startup or fastpaced environment
  • Strong understanding of the space industry, including trends, key players, and competitive landscape
  • Strong network of contacts within the space industry
  • Experience developing and executing gotomarket strategies for new products or services
  • Experience leading crossfunctional teams to achieve business objectives
  • Understanding of space policy and regulation.
  • Experience in the endtoend sales process: sourcing, negotiating, closing
  • Experience in managing medium to large business opportunities
  • Familiarity with U.S. market
