Overview / Responsibilities

We are looking for a Modular Engineering Manager.

He/She supports the delivery of Woods strategy for delivering modular technology solutions for methanation (Vesta) and hydrogen generation (via steam methane reforming).

Provides leadership to multi-discipline engineers and have functional oversight of the performance of all discipline design work including resources within Consulting and Projects as necessary.

The Modular Engineering Manager leads by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Companys values and behaviours, role modelling commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour and creating an inclusive work environment.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Engineering delivery and performance
Leading a multi-discipline team to deliver competitive modular solutions

Role-model a mindset to develop and continuously improve our modular Products to have a competitive advantage while challenging traditional norms and practices, where appropriate.

Sharp product-oriented focus incorporating customer feedback to enhance competitiveness of designs
Understanding of design and sourcing constraints related to modular delivery
Drive HSSEA culture and performance through assigned discipline group
Produce discipline input to engineering execution plans
Establish and continuously improve design systems and tools required by the discipline to deliver cost effective and competitive design solutions
Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals and strategies. With guidance, looks ahead to determine and obtain needed resources to complete plans
Identify and pursue opportunities for margin enhancement including through HVEC utilisation
Strategy and Development / Business Development
Ensure modular offerings are market competitive
Lead broader teams to prepare modular offerings that are differentiated
Provide support to the business development process during proposals development
Support strengthening and deepening the use of workshare
Collaboratively produce inputs to proposals with other discipline heads
People and capability
Communicate the vision and strategic direction for Technology & Products hydrogen strategy; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these
The role will initially not have direct reports. However, a high degree of influence will be required to manage cross business unit teams. As the modular strategy is implemented and grows, management of direct reports may be required
Secure future resource and capability requirements within the discipline area to deliver current andfuture projects and lead on recruitment and selection of resources
Ensure that appropriate and effective competence assurance is in place
Identification of competence gaps in delivery and identify/organise resourcing to close gaps
Builds an inclusive team culture which recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring
Working Relationship

Internal:
Liaise, communicate and operate in conjunction with design discipline managers in own location and other local/regional offices, to support the effective execution of all work scopes
Engage with technical networks / communities of practice to advance and promote company-wide execution excellence
Clearly articulate and support Woods technology and products strategy with internal stakeholders across Business Units

External:
Liaise with current and potential customers and clients
Industry bodies and professional institutions to draw on best practice
Auditors/quality certification bodies for assurance of discipline design processes and procedures
Level of Influence & Decision Making Authority
Decisions have a significant impact on the successful delivery of technical and financial outcomes for the work group
Leads on recruitment and selection and sets tone for culture within team; significantly impacts on performance, engagement, productivity and retention of discipline engineering resources
Responsibility to maintain project budgets
Skills / Qualifications


Qualifications:
Minimum ISCED level 5 short-cycle tertiary education in engineering discipline Knowledge, skills and experience:
Extensive broad and deep experience of modular delivery in one or more relevant industry sectors
Expert level experience and understanding of design tools and processes
Broad understanding of the business drivers for relevant industry sector clients
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
Able to attract top talent to meet current and future business needs
Experienced in developing talent using coaching, mentoring and formal performance processes Personal
