Associate Scientist (Maternity Replacement) - GSK Institute for Global Health

Job purpose

As Associate Scientist you will:

  • Executes scientific experiments under limited supervision contributing to the conception, design, and interpretation of scientific data in support of research projects
  • Participate in scientific collaborations and reporting of data in technical reports and scientific journals
  • Maintains required documentation for processes and equipment

Key Responsibilities:


  • Participates in the design of scientific research experiments under limited direction
  • Works closely under the direction of scientific staff for the implementation of scientific experiments, data collection and their interpretation
  • Ensure timely data collection, & reporting (including participation to internal/external scientific documents) in area of responsibility
  • Ensure highest ethical standards, good scientific practices & data integrity are implemented in daily scientific activities
  • Participates in writing internal/external reports and scientific documents in support of internal projects
  • Prepares and presents scientific data in internal meetings

Basic Qualifications:


  • University degree in Biotechnology, Biology or CTF
  • Experience with protein purification and/or fermentation
  • Good level of spoken, conversational and written English
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn and passion for scientific research will make the difference.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of the main purification techniques aimed mainly at "Primary Recovery" :Tangential Flow Filtration, Continuous Centrifugation and Cellular Lysis.
  • Understand, interpret, and clearly communicate scientific data.
  • Demonstrate agility and ability to learn new methods and ways of working to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Have good team player capacity
