Job Description Summary:

At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years.

We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.


The EHS Specialist will act as a member of the EHS Team in the Brindisi Plant and be the EHS focal point for the assigned area and/or process.

The mission will be to develop, plan and execute the Environmental Health and Safety programs and policies.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the EHS Team to define, improve, lean, simplify, communicate and maintain site EHS program requirements and expectations
  • Implement/modify related EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Maintain an indepth knowledge of existing and proposed regulations
  • Modify and implement compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems
  • Manage environmental regulatory topics, with particular reference to air and waste
  • Provide and determine alternatives for issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance of plant operations with regulatory requirements relating to air, solid waste, chemical, water, health and safety

Qualification/Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Environmental, Industrial Engineering or related disciplines from an accredited university, or High School Diploma with significant experience in Environmental Health & Safety
  • Previous work experience in EHS
  • Knowledge of Italian EHS regulation 81/2008) and EHS international standards (ISO14001 and ISO45001)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks
  • Fluent Italian and good English knowledge
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
