Role Overview

Organization context:

Inside the Digital Technology (DT) Service of Solvay, the Laboratory PC support team is in charge of preparing, delivering solutions and providing support for R&I activities for a scope of 1500 Laboratory PC distributed WW.

A Laboratory PC is defined as a specific shared workstation located in each Solvay laboratory that can be used for:

Drive and collect data from a very wide range of analytical equipment
Provide automation capabilities for experiments

We are looking for:

Inside this team, we are looking for a Laboratory PC & Automation Tech Lead who will deliver:

Laboratory PC solution design and interfaces
Roadmap definition
Technical watch for standards and solution design evolution
Specific Software development management
Laboratory PC software and related document management
Daytoday support services to Solvay R&I employees, directly or indirectly by drafting troubleshooting guides to the first level of support.

We count on you for:

Be accountable for the technical achievement of Laboratory PC technical design and associated standards vision and strategy
Coordinate with business experts, and IT experts and work together with the product architect
Make sure solutions mixing platforms technologies work together with respect to compliance and security
Validate and implement design ensuring requirements and proper documentation are met like SIP (security) or Architects documentation, data governance.
Validate highlevel design solution
Knowledge Base Article management: new, review, cleanup related to technical guides and workaround
Act as design authority and ensure development plans are validated when necessary by architects, other Tech Leads, or the right people.
Be part in the Laboratory solution design and rollout projects

You will bring:

Hard skills

A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar environment (R&I, Laboratory PC and Laboratory IT equipment, solution design, support activities)
Any experience with technical software for Analytical labs (i.e., Chromatographic or Spectroscopy or Spectrometry software (GC, LC, MassSpec, NMR, FTIR) is a benefit
Fluent English, Italian, and French is an asset.
Knowledge of
Networks technologies
Workstation design and technology: Operating system, Software, Software packaging, patching
Cybersecurity
Microsoft Active Directory
Management of projects from design to rollout.
