    About the Opportunity

    An established and internationally recognised multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Site Development Engineer to join its Infrastructure team in Milan.

    Delivering complex projects across science, industry, technology, property, healthcare and social infrastructure sectors, the organisation operates within highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments. The team works in a BIM-led framework, integrating civil engineering design with architectural, structural and MEP disciplines to deliver coordinated, sustainable site solutions.

    This role is central to leading technically demanding site infrastructure projects, particularly within industrial and data centre developments, ensuring design excellence from concept through to construction and handover.

    The Role

    As Senior Site Development Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of site infrastructure packages across complex developments, acting as both technical authority and client interface.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Lead the design and coordination of site infrastructure works on multidisciplinary projects.
    • Act as Project Lead, managing client relationships from feasibility through to completion.
    • Develop site infrastructure designs through planning, permitting and procurement stages.
    • Define and coordinate site surveys and testing strategies to inform design development.
    • Deliver technically robust solutions across surface water, foul water, roads, earthworks and utilities.
    • Oversee civil construction activities as part of the Clerk of Works team.
    • Manage internal and external design interfaces (architectural, structural, geotechnical, landscape, MEP).
    • Drive digital delivery within a BIM and Common Data Environment (CDE).
    • Utilise Civil 3D, Revit and related BIM tools for coordinated design production.
    • Support bid preparation, client presentations and broader business development activities.
    • Mentor and support the technical development of junior engineers.

    About You

    You are a technically strong civil engineer with significant consultancy experience delivering complex site development projects.

    Essential requirements:

    Degree in Civil Engineering.

    • Minimum 10 years' experience within a consultancy environment.
    • Chartered status or actively working towards professional accreditation.
    • Strong technical expertise in surface water drainage, foul water systems, energy infrastructure, roads and carparks, earthworks, electrical and fibre utilities.
    • Experience delivering drawings, specifications and reports to programme and budget.
    • Knowledge of the Italian regulatory and planning framework.
    • Proven ability to manage civil engineering projects through planning and permitting processes.
    • Experience leading design from concept layout through to detailed design and construction.
    • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design interfaces.
    • Strong capability within BIM environments, including Civil 3D and Revit.
    • Knowledge of Navisworks and clash detection processes.
    • Experience with hydraulic modelling software.
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

    Desirable:

    • Experience on industrial and/or data centre projects.
    • Passion for sustainable site development, including Green Infrastructure (GI) and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
