Technical Training Program Manager
Your Role And Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver and implement the talent and people development strategy in alignment with group directives and wider HR strategy. Each day, you will manage the design of the talent and learning solutions that are part of the leadership learning ecosystem. You will also showcase your expertise by understanding the business needs and making the connections with relevant content while ensuring best-in-class talent and learning experience.
The Technical Training Program Specialist supports and executes technical training from strategy creation to production and delivery, playing a pivotal role in raising the technical expertise of ABB Smart Buildings and Smart Power Marketing & Sales and ensuring a customer centric training framework.
This position reports to SB/SP Global Technical Training Program Manager, Marketing & Sales, Smart Buildings & Smart Power.
The work model for the role is: Remote
This position is fix-term to support the team while a colleague is on maternity leave.
You Will Be Mainly Accountable For
- Ensures the development, planning, execution and performance of internal and external technical training for Smart Buildings & Smart Power that reflects sustainability objectives, including energy efficiency, circularity, and ABB's sustainability strategy.
- Collaborates with local sales units, business lines, and agile units to identify technical training needs based on the product application, international standards, and other specific requirements.
- Designs and develops comprehensive learning paths and materials tailored to the required customer segments, products and tools in coordination with other trainers and subject matter experts to be customer and role specific for the student.
- Accountable for the creation and maintenance of the training offering within Course Finder. Holds content owners – agile units, business lines, local sales units, marketing and sales – accountable for the governance and lifecycle management of training alongside products & portfolio.
- Develops and owns an annual training plan that aligns with business goals, customer needs, and resource availability for the assigned area of responsibility. This includes scheduling training sessions, allocating budgets, and setting objectives for the year.
- In the design of training content uses diverse training methods, such as in-person workshops, online courses, webinars, and hands-on demonstrations, to reach a global audience effectively.
- Scouts and tests new training technologies, such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, video tutorials, forums, and gamification.
- Ensures availability of common metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, including alignment, participant feedback, knowledge retention, and application of skills in real-world scenarios.
- Utilizes Learning Management System (LMS) and other digital tools to streamline training delivery, track progress, and manage training resources efficiently; Contributes to ensuring that all training programs meet industry regulations, safety standards, and company compliance policies.
- Regularly reviews and updates training content and delivery methods based on feedback, industry trends, and technological advancements.
Qualifications For The Role
- Experience influencing and leading indirect teams, building champion networks.
- Training leaders hip or creation experience.
- 10+ years in marketing, sales, technical training, or related area
