Job Description Summary:

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years.

We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for engine and mechanical transmissions applied to both civil and military aviation (i.e., accessory drivetrains, engine thermal management, turboprop & helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc.).


We are reinforcing the focus to excellence looking for a talented and experienced Fluidic Hardware Owner, expected to perform concept studies, lead design, support producibility and field service of complex components for next gen mechanical transmissions, engines, and controls system.

As Fluidic Hardware Owner, you will be part of Controls Accessories & Marine (CA&M) - Fluidic Hardware Owner organization.


In this position, you will conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems, participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews and be part of a team with a full ownership of accessories and control products, through a deep collaboration with engineering, quality, and system departments.


Essential Responsibilities:

The Fluidic Hardware Owner will be part of the Controls Accessories & Marine (CA&M) - Fluidic Hardware Owner team.

In this position she/he will be in charge to:


  • Capture complex system requirements, flowdown them to assess components architecture and key characteristics.
  • Collect, bargain and release technical requirements of components like pumps, filters, valves (i.e., thermal, bypass, relief), strainers, heat exchangers/cooling fans and sensors (i.e., pressure and temperature).
  • Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stackups, in various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
  • Lead and execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned components using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Ensure design and hardware deliverables to internal and external customers, embracing Avio Aero design execution quality, within deadline agreed with technical leaders and/or program managers with respect to product lifecycle (from concept, through design and reviews gates, prototype and certification, field introduction, investigation and sustaining).
  • Issue the technical documents relative to the components design according to engineering policies and procedures (presentations as well as analysis reports, deliverables, certification reports, design record books).
  • Proactively lead and support as a presenter in technical and program reviews with senior engineers, program leaders, external companies, suppliers and customers.
  • Prepare test plan and define pass/fail criteria, post process data acquiring, elaborating, deducing, and correlating them with physics phenomena.
  • Support source technological substantiation and nonconformances assessments (MRB).
  • Support activities related to development findings, components performance and investigations (test requests, test data postprocess, laboratories investigation).
  • Participate in problem solving and innovation initiatives.
  • Demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Master's degree of Science in Engineering: Mechanical, Aviation, Physics or related from an accredited university.
  • Robust knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations, hydraulic and electrical disciplines.
  • Knowledge in defining fluidic component design intent, lead analysis, support reviews, support procurement and validation in all product lifecycle.
  • Previous proven working experience on fluidic mechanical components (valves, pumps, filters, pipes, sensors, fan, heat exchangers) and fluidic systems (fuel, oil, air) preferably in aeronautical section.
  • Knowledge of CAD (preferable Unigraphics) and Geometrical Dimensional & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Practical use of MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Great accountability/collaboration & interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Capability to interface with internal departments and to manage technical relationship with external companies, suppliers and customers.
  • Selfdirected, highly motivated, able to manage workload across several activities.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English.
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
