    Full-Time Special Education Teacher Opportunity for the School Year in Geona, Illinois

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in self-contained classrooms across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.
    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students' unique learning needs, strengths, and goals.
    • Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students with disabilities.
    • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, assistive technologies, and behavior management techniques to support student learning and promote skill development.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to ensure the successful inclusion and participation of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum and school community.
    • Monitor student progress and assess learning outcomes using a variety of assessment tools and strategies, and use data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, solicit feedback, and collaborate on strategies to support student success.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities and engage in ongoing collaboration with colleagues to enhance knowledge and skills in special education best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
    • Valid teaching license in Special Education (Illinois certification required).
    • Prior experience working with students with disabilities in a school or educational setting.
    • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices in instruction, assessment, and behavior management.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
    • Dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
