Arsenale Express

Arsenale Express SpA is the Division of the Group dedicated to luxury train cruises.

On June 15th 2021, the project "Il Treno della Dolce Vita" has been officially launched, in collaboration with Trenitalia SpA - Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato.

The Train has been conceived to show up the beauty of Italian peninsula and its territory through a luxury offer based on a new hospitality concept of the highest level.

As a result of the Term Sheet signed on December 6th 2021 between Arsenale SpA and ACCOR S.A involving Trenitalia SpA and Fondazione FS Italiane, a strategic partnership has been settled between the Groups further enhancing the luxury trains project as "Orient Express - Il Treno della Dolce Vita".

Two Trains will be operating mid 2024 and the entire fleet of 6 trains will be operating by the end of 2026.

The trains will cover more than km of railway, 15 Regions will be crossed, and 128 cities will be reached.

Each trip will be of 1-3 nights with the highest comfort and quality standard.


Job Description:

Reporting Line


Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Accor and Arsenale Finance Teams, the Financial Controller is part of the Executive Committee.

He/She supports the decisions, choices, search for quality, and results of the executive and operational departments by always maintaining a respectful approach to the Accor procedures.

Rome.

Mission

The Financial Controller will assist the Executive Team in delivering business plans and integrating the business wherever possible. To do so, they will be optimizing operating costs and capitalizing on cross pollination of business opportunities.

The Director of Finance will also provide strategic support to their team as well as to the Leadership Team, to ensure the delivery of Orient Express La Dolce Vita's service standards, guest experiences excellence, and maximum operating results.

Roles and responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implementation of sales processes to ensure the flows are in place for the revenues' recognition.
  • Pre-Opening Budget management and reporting (more particularly on people's costs, marketing costs, OS&E, etc.).
  • Signature of Hospitality contracts.
  • Validation of Hospitality payments.
  • Monitoring of cash, cash reconciliations with PSP, and bank account.
  • Holding signature powers on the deposit bank account.
  • Followingup on B2B and B2C concerning customer potential change requests, reimbursement requests, etc.
  • Implementation of the financial and all back office tools, BI, policies & processes and reporting for Owners.
  • Creation of the financial & purchasing Teams.
  • Accompanying the Excom. in all preopening steps.
  • Building the first operating budget.
Controlling Activities

  • Management of the Finance functions (Income Audit, Payroll, Cash/Bank Control, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable), Purchasing functions and other Teams.
  • Preparation of departmental strategies and establishment effective goals
  • Preparation of the Finance Departments' measures and action plans related to: Colleague Engagement, Guest Experience, Revenue, Financial reporting, ALL Loyalty Program, Purchasing goal, IT key metrics, etc.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, Inventory, and weekly financial reports including forecasting of profits, cash and payroll.
