Field Testing Internship (M/F)

Bayer CropScience is looking for a highly motivated new graduate student willing to join the Field Testing team in Olmeneta (CR) for a 6 months internship (May-October 2023).

In our site we are responsible for the selection of new corn products for the Mediterranean market.

This is a chance to work in an innovative and international environment with a professional team and an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience of plant breeding.

During the 6 months you will acquire a deep understanding of the corn breeding workflow while being exposed to the different projects and daily activities planned during the season from the early growth stages to harvest, data analysis and advancement decisions.

You will work within the Field Testing team on these main activities:

Development of new protocols for traits collection during the season to increase data quality;
Field scouting to verify the proper use of best agricultural practices;
Collecting phenotypic data in open field trials placed in Lombardy area (plant and ear height, lodging, response to diseases);
Manage UAV field flights and creation of flight missions;
Data management into dedicated databases;
Data analysis using custom softwares.

WHO YOU ARE

Graduate students from no more than 12 months holding a Bachelor or Master Degree in Agriculture or Engineering related degrees
Passion for plant science and good knowledge of genetics and agronomy
Good computer skills
Good communication skills
Good knowledge of English
The drone flight license will be a plus
