Job Summary:

Controls daily warehouse activities at the site to ensure production needs. Supports any materials operation functions from receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping. The inventory controller is responsible for cycle count programs, inventory management, warehouse slotting, and part set up assistance. They actively manage backflush issues and assist both the planning and receiving teams.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Utilization of project management skills to implement lean management efforts to increase velocity and minimize inventory levels.
  • Creates/establishes and owns/operates the action plans, countermeasures, and other critical inventory reports.
  • Verifies and keeps records on material transactions and reviews system transaction:
  • Develop warehouse operation's systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, and creates processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Continuous development, implementation, enforcement, and evaluation of policies and procedures.
  • Create material flow design by planning layouts, slotting, evaluating and recommending new equipment.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse and docks by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintain material staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to resolving problems, completing audits, and identifying trends
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills Required:


  • Bachelors Degree required, Business or Engineering discipline preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and other inventory control/shipping software
