ABOUT US

At IIT we work enthusiastically to develop human-centered Science and Technology to tackle some of the most pressing societal challenges of our times and transfer these technologies to the production system and society.

Our Genoa headquarters are strictly interconnected with the other 11 centers around Italy and two outstations based in the US.

We promote excellence in basic and applied research such as neuroscience and cognition, humanoid technologies and robotics, nanotechnology, materials for a truly multidisciplinary scientific experience.

YOUR TEAM

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where material scientists, chemists, physicists, and mechanical and biomedical engineers collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

You will be part of a research group led by Dr. Virgilio Mattoli, who has extensive experience in micro/nanofabrication, two-photon lithography, conformable electronics, and sensors.

The research focuses on the development of novel materials and approaches within the field of two photon polymerization (2PL), by using a custom multi-parameter optical system which can enable the 3D printing of micro/nanostructures via 2PL processes and the dynamic tuning of the properties of the printed materials.

This also include the possible characterization of the MEMS and microarchitectures fabricated by the partners of the project.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Optimization of the optical system to answer the possibile needs of fabrication and materials
  • To design, fabricate and test target microdevices
This open position/research is financed by the European Commission within the H2020 program FET Open project 'Functional & Dynamic 3D Nano

  • MicroDevices by Direct Multi-Photon Lithography' (5DNanoPrinting)
  • Grant Number The project brings together a consortium of academic institutions and industrial partners to define a new paradigm in the fabrication of MEMS and functional microstructures through 3D printing via direct laser writing.
